Gaia

Gail Vreeland contributed one of my favorite themes to paint, Gaia. I have painted her as the mountains, Mother Earth reclining on a lake under the moonlight.

Live Laugh Love

Leanna DeBonis contributed Live. Laugh, Love. Blowing bubbles was the image I saw and it was easy to paint. The child is my spirit of fun.

Time of Change

Keith gave me a quote that had me reflect for awhile. It came to me as I was throwing on the pottery wheel. "In times of change learners inherit the earth; while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists."

Peace and Love

Thank you Kathy Fox for the quote "Peace and Love". I had lots of fun. It is hard to see in the photo but there are multiple blue peace signs under the texture and face.

Peacock

Denise Bach contributed this beautiful quote.
Peacocks walked under the night trees in the lost moon light
when I went out looking for love that night A ring dove cooed in a cove A cloche tolled twice
once for the birth and once for the death of love that night- Lawrence Ferlinghetti
I may have been overwhelmed by all the imagery.

A Small Group

Often when I am fighting an uphill battle I imagine myself in a small boat adrift in a vast ocean. Yes, occasionally the boat is leaking.:) The quote is from Joy Ray-1.     "Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead. The painting came easily however photographing it was a pain. the sky is purple and the sea is a rich green. There are 3 tiny figures on the boat throwing their light out into the darkness.

Going Dark

Charlene shared a quote from Hannabal ..."Some places are stained now. Some people, too." I instantly had an image in my head and the painting was quickly completed.

Time Brings Change

Anonymous left "Time brings change". I want to add a little more depth to the skull but it may take a few days for my paste to dry.I am thinking I will drybrush some teal on the skull.

Sunday Catch Up

I took the day off Sunday so I created 2 pieces today. This one is a contribution from Tessa; lyrics from Phish-"Can't this wait 'till I'm old, can't I live while I'm young". My person is skydiving through life.

Beach

Tracy Gallipo is dreaming of the beach so I envisioned cool blue and floral warm toes in the sand.

Marshmallow run off

I had 2 ideas for the quote from Penny and her story; "My family around a bonfire toasting marshmallows on a summer evening and enjoying the night sky." It was late when I finished so I am posting now. Version one has the 3D marshmallow within the fire and the family in the background. I wanted it masked like memory so I poured wax over the image. The second image is the fire with a blue, night sky in profile and the family represented in toasted colors. Which one do you prefer?

Don't Behave

Liz LeBrun posted “Well-behaved women seldom make history.” Well, do you think I could get high heels out of my head? (For those who do not know, Liz has an amazing collection). Now the challenge was to make the heels and the quote work. So here is my confident woman, shaking off the dust of negativity and marching off the canvas to behave badly.
I apologize for the fuzzy photo but you get the idea.

Phoenix Rising

I believe this came from my brother-in-law, Anthony. It was from anonymous. The quote
Like the mighty phoenix,
Once again I rise from the flames set to destroy me and take flight.

I am

Stronger

Glorious

Powerful

Victorious
I did not want the overemphasis on the bird so I have it bursting from the hand that is rising from the ashes, the little spark that will grow.

Dancing Stars

"You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star" Nietzche  This was fun to paint.
 Thanks Denise

Here is "Moon", inspiration from Linda Paquette! Thank you.
