Really messing with it

I really messed this one up. I hated what I did with the face details so I threw it on the floor and let it sit there for a few hours. I then starting thinking of spirit and the imagery of birds. I created the birds on rice paper with pastel. I then blurred the pastel with mat medium. I added them to the faces. I still need to do some blending from the birds to the faces. Do you like the direction this is heading?

Mark 7

I was so happy with the grass additions to the silhouette in Beauty Marks that I dedicated a marl just to her. She has wire hoops coming through her ears. There are very subtle swirls within her face.

A fellow art fellow had a lovely book on symbols and in it was photo of a beautiful feather fossil.I then pressed feathers into modeling paste and experimented with color. Which one is your favorite?

Beauty Marks 2

I love having the constant feedback. My friend Linda said how the green silhouette reminded her of nature and all of a sudden I envisioned grass as her hair. I have just added a few. Do you think she needs more? I gave her a little more definition in the ear. I am wondering if the glass shard is too big? Do you think the piece is done?

Marks on the Wall

This pieces has clay bricks and the granite with the fossilized shell. I  am thinking of filling the area to the left of the black stencil face and above the bricks and below the dots, possibly with hieroglyphics or Islamic text. I was going to keep the images black. Do you think it will be too much? Linda- This is a piece of the humanities mural. RECYCLED.

Whose Marks

This is 8X10 and has the brick color with a green crackle over it. I limited the colors to black and silver and mixed up the cultural images. I have torn newspaper on the lower right.

Mark 4

I have graffiti and prehistoric drawings with the color pumped up.
